There are endless possibilities when it comes to marketing these days; so many, in fact, that I often hear people say they feel “lost” or “overwhelmed” by the mere thought of entering the field. What I so rarely hear, however, are the stories of those who’ve found a way to carve out a niche and make a name for themselves. My name is Kosta Gara, and that’s exactly what I’ve done with network marketing. I’d like to share with you what I have found to be the most rewarding benefits of an organic, network-based marketing strategy.
Before we begin, a brief lesson is in order. What exactly is network marketing? To put it simply, network marketing is a means of directly selling products to the consumer. Think of it this way: we’ve all heard about six degrees of separation—the theory that any two people in the world are connected in some way by no more than six people. Network marketing, especially when done organically, capitalizes on this fact to create a network or chain of people who will perpetuate the sale of products or services, cutting out the middle man. Avon and Amway are iconic examples of this theory in motion.
It is my personal belief that in order to make a million dollars, we must make one million friends. Perhaps a difficult prospect to understand at first, but when we take into account the theory of six degrees of separation, doors open for us in ways we never imagined.
Benefit #1: Minimal Risk
Investing always comes with risk. How much one is willing to risk is where the difference lies. With network marketing, the risk can be very minimal. An independent business owner (IBO) chooses when and how much to invest in a product or service, thus enabling him or her to directly control how much they’re willing to put at stake. This is very appealing to many people who do not have the necessary time or funds to invest into a traditional business where loans are taken out, the business may have high overhead to start and unless you have a team of experts there is usually no support.
People are willing to give your product or service a try when it is a small risk to them. The more people who give it a try, the more exposure it receives and the faster it will grow, with the intent of creating a household name – it’s that simple. Let your product work for you!
Benefit #2: Demand for Quality Products
In this day and age, people are experiencing a return to the holistic, the organic, the natural, and sustainable. Consumers want to know what they’re buying, and rightfully so! As the mind of the consumer changes, so should the market; network marketing allows for the confidence and trust of the consumer to be restored because they trust you.
Think about it like this: your word holds a lot of value to your friends, family, and even strangers. With the rise of social media, the consumer holds more power than ever over faceless, big-box corporations, and they know it! Internet reviews and similar content are instrumental in both building up and breaking down a company or their products. As IBOs, we can harness that same power to ensure that only the best products are manufactured and sold. Studies have shown that consumers appreciate transparency and honesty from companies as they would from another human being. We are in the business of helping other people – people helping people.
Benefit #3: Residual Income
I can’t think of a better business venture than one that stays in motion. Not only is it annoying and cumbersome to keep something moving, but it’s also wasteful of one’s own time and energy if it’s not progressing. We don’t wake up every morning to wind our clocks – we set our clocks once and expect them to keep time indefinitely. We live in an age of automation where everything works because of human engineering and convenience, and I personally intend to keep my life that way. Why shouldn’t you?
In my opinion (and hopefully yours too), I’d rather start and finish something so I can move on to the next. Of course, I’m not saying that network marketing is an effortless venture – quite the opposite! But when enough effort is put in early on to keep things moving, you will reap the rewards for years to come. In network marketing, whether you are the owner of the company or you are a distributor for the company, if you do it right the first time, you’ll never have to build again. Measure twice and cut once!
Benefit #4: Income Potential
The sky is the limit in network marketing. How much money you earn is directly related to how much effort you’re willing to put in. Once you’ve set those gears in motion, your business “machine” will run quietly, smoothly, and efficiently so long as you see fit. In a traditional business model, there are limits as to how much one can earn within their field given their skillset, performance, and a few other factors. This is called the “market standard,” and most working people are confined to this standard – the old industrial aged system.
With network marketing, there is no such standard because the standard is now defined by you. It is an open playing field where everyone starts at the exact same level. Create your own hours – Part-time? Full-time? Weekends? Holidays? It’s all up to you. Your success is now directly tied to your ambitions and goals. Once you decide to become a network marketer, you will be able to market anything and generate the income you desire.
Benefit #5: No Employees Required!
Perhaps one of the biggest differences between a traditional business and a multilevel marketing (MLM) business is the lack of employees. Unlike traditional businesses which rely heavily on employees, an MLM business is comprised of likeminded individuals working together towards a common goal. Networker Marketers have the freedom to work their business wherever they desire – be it at home, in a coffee shop, on a beach, or anywhere; all you need is a laptop, wifi, phone, and a burning desire to help others succeed. By taking energy away from employee needs, we are able to focus on growing our businesses as we see fit.
In a traditional 9-to-5 business model, the only person who comes out on top is your boss. The more money you make, the less your boss does. MLM businesses (I cannot stress enough) are people helping people, working together towards a common goal, and building strong relationships with one another. The result? A truly symbiotic, win-win-win situation where the shared bond between partners and customers is one of solidarity and understanding.
Benefit #6: No Stock Piling of Products
What could be better than selling a product you don’t have to inventory? When selling for larger companies, they take care of the drop shipping. As a distributor, you are only responsible for your sales. One less restriction and one less thing to do allows you time to focus on other aspects of your business. More time means a more flexible work flow, which I always recommend.
Benefit #7: Low Operating Costs
Statistically speaking, MLM style businesses make it possible to run a business at a significantly lower operating cost than any other business model. Remember: time is money, and the less time spent on the frivolous aspects of running a business, the better. When we spend less, we can afford more; and being able to build a business from the ground up anywhere in the world for a couple hundred bucks is certainly a luxury not afforded to most.
Low operating costs allow you to dedicate time to perfect your trade and become the best marketer you possibly can be. We are in the business of helping people, especially likeminded individuals from whom we can learn. There’s so much to share and a wealth of information to be gained from collaborating with others.
Benefit #8: Leverage & Accountability
Your “coworkers,” so to speak, are your best friends in this industry. As stated above, the wealth of information we gain from our personal experiences can help build win-win relationships with others in our field. Great things can happen when we work together, and knowing how to use your skills to get where you need to go is a vital skillset to create a successful business.
With leverage also comes accountability. In this sense, accountability is defined as a feeling of accomplishment for the efforts of oneself. In other words, no one is responsible for your success but you! With that being said, therein lies one of the most rewarding aspects of network marketing. You are able to market and sell a product that you believe in to the people you love and care about who will then recommend your product to their friends and loved ones, etc. It’s a company that builds itself but requires your initial effort. Start strong and end strong, just as you would anything else. Set something in motion and enjoy the benefits for years to come.
Benefit #9: Portability
One of my favorite things about multilevel marketing is its portability, and what I mean by that is the freedom to get up and go on a whim! Travel the world while your business works for you. Your business is always in your back pocket, ready to go whenever you are ready to talk about it. The world is your office, and you can take your business with you anywhere and everywhere.
Benefit #10: Freedom
Finally, to tie it all up, comes the freedom. Once the process is complete, you’ll be able to live a life beyond your wildest dreams. From traveling to retiring to starting a new business venture – I’ve done it all, and so can you. When I talk about freedom, I don’t necessarily mean just the freedom to be; I also mean the freedom to make as much as you’d like without having to be there. As mentioned above, when you set your goals in motion with enough momentum that they are able to keep moving on their own, you will enjoy your accomplishments for years to come.
When we work traditional office jobs, the model typically looks like this: you, the employee, sell your time in exchange for money. It has been this way since the beginning of time. The problem, however, is that you have to physically be there every day from 9-to-5. It’s simple: if you stop working, you stop making money. When you sell a product or service through network marketing, you may have hundreds of thousands of customers/distributors beneath you generating income that you leverage off of! In short? If you worked the system, you can finally take that vacation of your dreams and the money still keeps rolling in!
And there you have it – ten reasons why you should join a network marketing company! This may be a bit overwhelming, I know, but keep this article close by for a quick boost of inspiration! Always remember that success is a process and lies in the journey. The person on top of a mountain did not fall there, and neither will you. Success takes time, dedication, patience, and lots of room for error.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, my friends, and neither will your business! True success is never an overnight phenomenon. Remember to take each day as it comes, one by one, and make the best of them. Push yourself to do a little bit more every day, and you will find that change will come organically and almost effortlessly.
