A fairly new company known as “Lytro” has taken on a huge project that could completely transform the way we take and edit photos. They claim their invention of the light field camera will start a picture revolution making conventional cameras a thing of the past!

What is so different about the light field camera is the abilities it has after the picture is taken. This amazing technology will enable you to focus a picture after it has already been taken, control the incredible low-light sensitivity as well as the ability to make any photo 3-D! Because this camera captures the entire light field, unlike traditional cameras, it releases capabilities that have never before been possible!

The light field camera will save time when actually taking your photos, as focusing can all be done when reviewing the photos later. This allows you to really concentrate on what you’re tying to capture in the frame, without worry of it being blurry or too dark. This concept has been a work in progress since 2006 and now its finally all coming together with a release date expected sometime this year!

This type of technology is what changes the future; it will bring a completely new element to photography. I can’t wait to hear more details about this amazing development! It’s amazing to see how we’ve progressed from the polaroid days of the 50’s to where we are now! Imagine 50 years from now…
