I am always astounded by how quickly the world changes by new technology that’s developed. Everything is becoming simple, instantaneous and accessible. Now with the use of technology we can even become healthier!

One amazing device I use everyday is called FitBit. It logs my meals, workouts, and weight. It even tracks how many steps I take through out the day and my calorie intake! There are many devices on the market today that track fitness, its truly a brilliant technology!   1. Drink plenty of water! Drink two glasses before each meal and you will notice significant results in your weight!
  2. Order Al La Carte! Resist the temptation to have sides…
  3. Pick whole grains over processed white-flour based items
  4. Eat spicy food! It speeds up your metabolism and promotes weight loss
  5. Try to get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep
  6. Manage your stress, go for a jog or just take a deep breath!
  7. Take the stairs, let that elevator take someone else
  8. Take time when eating, chew completely, try not to scarf down your meal!
  9. Go for a walk after dinner
  10. At work, keep healthy snacks on hand
  11. Don’t take life so seriously, laugh at jokes and smile
  12. Eat protein, it will keep you fuller
  13. Avoid distractions during dinner, and pay attention to what your eating
  14. Eat dinner early, before 7PM
  15. Weigh yourself everyday
  16. Start eating the same food on a regular basis, begin a routine!
  17. Reward yourself every once and a while

I often find that many people tend to skip breakfast, which seems like a smart thing to do if you aren’t hungry, why not cut the extra calories right? That’s completely wrong! If you skip breakfast often you are denying your body what it needs and your losing out on my many positive benefits! You can’t just eat a pastry in the morning and call that “ breakfast” though; you must eat a complete meal with fiber, organic whole grains and organic protein! The beginning of the year allows everyone to start fresh and begin to work at any goal they’ve wanted to accomplish. For many, these goals are usually health related, and often the desired result is to lose weight. Although that is a great goal to strive for, one thing to take into consideration is doing it the healthy way. Evaluate how you want to accomplish your goals and think about how you can aid to losing those extra couple of pounds, while also boosting your health! Changing your lifestyle to that of an organic one is definitely a great and easy goal to achieve! Here are some tips to help you start!

• Save money on organic food by looking for coupons, or signing up for mailing lists from your local market.

• Start off by trying different organic products as you transition into buying mostly organic, but make sure to know which items are imperative to buy organic (see my previous blogs)

• Know how to read and understand organic labels- organic food labels must have a certified United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Organic seal.

• Start your own organic vegetable garden! You will have no doubt in your mind that you are getting the most nutrition over anything you can buy in the store.

• Use natural cleaning products- inhaling the harsh chemicals and fumes many of the conventional brands have is very unhealthy for you.

The benefits of living an organic lifestyle are worth every penny, and all the time it takes to get used to it. Your body will thank you!

You might be wondering, can eating organic really help me lose weight? Well, the answer is yes! Of course eating the right diet comes first in maintaining a healthy and fit lifestyle, but only consuming organic will aid in achieving your weight goals!

The destructive toxins that are found in conventional foods are to blame for the increase in weight gain of the general population over the past 30 years. These terrible chemicals cause your body to store unnecessary fat and can even cause a number of other health issues.
