As I sit in Tokyo hotel room enjoying my morning coffee, browsing through the morning paper here in Tokyo, the first headline I noticed was “New Graduates Face Gloomy Job Prospects”. Further on I read that roughly one-third of Japan’s work force is now “irregular,” getting by on part-time jobs or short-term contract work that leads nowhere.
