White House gets a little colorful with The First Lady’s touches!

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Many of today’s most influential individuals are taking the organic lifestyle seriously. A great example of this is our First lady, Michelle Obama. Since the beginning of Barack Obama’s term, she has tended to her very large garden, which includes a variety and fruits and vegetables.

This is actually the first active garden since Eleanor Roosevelt planted a garden at the height of World War II! I find Michelle’s message for planting and growing all of her own crops to be admirable. Being in the spotlight allows for her to bring the message of good health and organic living to the entire nation very easily.

Michelle often speaks at elementary schools and stresses the importance of growing your own crops. She explains her children are much more willing to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, for not only does it taste better, but they also get to be involved in planting the seeds and watching them grow. This is a great example to follow if you have children who are apprehensive to eat their daily fruits or veggies!
